What do my suspension and shock absorbers do?

Your car's suspension and shock absorbers maintain optimal contact and friction between the vehicle's tyres and the road including while cornering, in wet weather and while braking. The suspension absorbs the energy and the shocks dissipate it.

When do shocks or suspension need servicing?

They should both be inspected regularly as per your log book servicing requirements, however, if you notice any of the following then you should book in for a service;

  • Uneven tyre wear
  • Steering wheel vibration
  • The bonnet dips when braking
  • Car rocks and rolls over bumps
  • Car doesn't hug corner when turning
  • Takes longer to stop when braking
